Well, where did that first year go?!
We’ve just celebrated our first birthday and are now taking a minute to reflect on the last year…
Day to day life has changed out of all recognition! In our former lives we were both very focused on home, friends and family (still so important to us), but we now have another ‘baby’ to look after as well. Before Nostara, we’d be at the stage of planning Halloween and Christmas PTFA events and generally thinking ahead to all the festivities. All that planning, plus all the usual ‘mum’ jobs, family and friends stuff and being a shoulder to cry on or an ear to bend.
Fast forward to now, and life has changed immeasurably. Days are spent packing up and posting off orders (hello smiley post office workers!), emails, seeking and looking after our lovely stockists (check them out here), searching out the latest tips on fairs and developing new Nostara products. All this fuelled, of course, by copious amounts of tea.
Then throw in the fairs…As soon as we blinked at the end of the summer season of Country Fairs (like startled rabbits in the headlights!), we were staring our Christmas Fairs list in the eye! So, we’re packing up our wares (why are our arms not toned yet?!) and wrapping up warm ready to for the next phase - our first proper Christmas of getting out into the world. Launching in October last year meant that we were still in the Bambi stage of selling back then - this time we’re hitting the ground running (we hope!)
Week-ends at home? A thing of the past! Socialising and Christmas parties? What are they? Our new agenda is getting out and about meeting more and more potential customers and encouraging anyone and everyone to sample our fragrances. Spare a thought for us, from now until Christmas - in the middle of a marquee with 20 layers on - yes, that’ll be us dressed like the Michelin man! Who knew you could have so many jumpers on? We’ve definitely been spoilt by the heatwave-y summer!
So, why not check out our calendar of events and come and say hello? Sort all your Christmas shopping in one hit, because who doesn’t love a little bit of luxury? Could our gorgeous soy, scented candles be the gift you’re looking for? Or how about an effortless reed diffuser for the person who has everything?
As well as all that, we’re also coming to a high street near you (well, if you’re up in London that is). We’re dipping our toes into the world of pop ups and are very excited to reveal that we shall be appearing in both Hampstead and Notting Hill during November. Why not pay us a visit at A Luxe Story: a lifestyle concept store or pop in to Deluxe Pop up at 79/81 Ledbury Road when you’re next in town? You’ll be able to sample and buy Nostara luxury home fragrance along with a host of other high end products by independent designers: from jewellery and clothes, to bags and pieces for your home - all perfectly curated for your delectation.
What with all that, being featured in House & Garden again this month, building our presence in stockists and developing new products, we’re really thrilled with the direction we’re taking… and we hope you’ll stick around for the ride too.
One of the questions we’re most asked by men? “When are you going to do a more manly one, then?” Keen to please our customers, we took up the challenge of creating a new fragrance that would appeal to all, with rich, darker undertones.
We'll be launching this new release at our premium Country Store stockists, E J Churchill, in High Wycombe on Wednesday 16th October 2019. Fizz, canapés and new dresses? Check. Fabulous goody bags? Indeed they are! Find out more...
